Jimbalakadunj – Elevated Water Tank and Stand

Jimbalakudunj Aboriginal community is situated approximately 100 km west of Fitzroy Crossing in the Shire of Derby – West Kimberley on the Great Northern Highway.

The project undertaken by KRSP was the supply, installation and erection of an elevated water storage tank and stand and included the following works;

  • Water Storage Tank
    • Tank shell including roof and fixings to elevated platform deck structure
    • Reinforcement members
    • Tank liner
    • Pump suction nozzles with anti-vortex feature
    • Man-ways including gaskets and bolting
    • Exterior coating to maximise durability
    • Roof access ladder on exterior of tank
    • Access platform and hatch with handrails on roof and Davit arm.
    • Float actuated liquid level indicator with gauge board
    • Hydrostatic leakage testing
  • Tank stand
    • Steel tank stand with platform 15.5 m above existing ground level to suit the replacement tank.
    • Stand to include necessary bracing, decking, handrails and access ladder
    • Exterior coating to maximise durability

The project was successfully completed in May 2015 for the Department of Housing with a value of $563K.
