As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO registration number: 6802) we have been providing quality training courses for Indigenous people in the Kimberley Region of Western Australia for more than a decade. We have led the way particularly for Indigenous Australians wishing to improve their qualifications through the highly successful “Certificate II in Remote Area Essential Services (UEE21311).”
We are the only Registered Training Organisation in the Kimberley to deliver this qualification and we have an unequalled record in the successful delivery of the course to Aboriginal people. All qualifications issued by the company are nationally recognised and are part of the national system of skills recognition. We are committed to continuous improvement in the design and delivery of vocational training through the accreditation of courses and the registration of training providers. This is a process that takes into consideration the unique and changing situations encountered in remote Aboriginal communities and the varying needs of trainees.
Our aim from the start has been to create a pool of aboriginal trainees regionally located and to rotate them between Communities, Service Crews, Capital Works, cleanup, workshop as well as our regular sub contractors. We consider this rotation beneficial to the trainees by broadening their training and skills level whilst maintaining their interest and job focus. We utilise two dedicated trainer staff in delivering the qualification and in the provision of ongoing support to graduates of previous training rounds.
We understand trainees need role models and mentors to develop the attitude necessary to successfully complete their training. We utilise our resources to attract suitable role models that the trainees will be able to look to for encouragement. We foster company loyalty and make each trainee feel a vital part of our organization.
Our flexible training regime has helped maintain motivation, broaden skills and experience levels and engender greater self respect.
The outcome for the trainee is the opportunity for:
- A real job
- A proper pay
- A status in the Community that is well respected
- A role model for other Community members
